Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Meet the Local 342 Pink Ribbon Leaders

Local 342 has been a proud multi-site sponsor for Making Strides against Breast Cancer walk for several years now. In that time with combined efforts of fundraising, over $250,000 has been donated to The American Cancer Society by Team Local 342! In order for money to be raised Local 342 volunteers work endlessly leading up to walk day to collect as much money as they can to be donated. Over the past several years a few of our volunteers have gone above and beyond with their fundraising efforts. Those volunteers have been recognized at the past few year-end meetings and have been given the title “Pink Ribbon Leaders”. Pink Ribbon Leaders are volunteers who have individually raised and donated over $1,000. Year after year it has become a goal of these volunteers to raise more and more for strides. With October being Officially Breast Cancer Awareness month the Local 342 Activities Department would like you to meet these outstanding volunteers.

Below is a brief spotlight on each of the 8 Pink Ribbon Leaders.  Some of you may already know these men and women and some of you may have never had the privilege to meet them. We invite all of our members along with family and friends to come out and join us on Sunday October 21st at either of the Local 342 sponsor locations in Staten Island or Jones Beach to walk with Local 342 and meet our pink ribbon leaders!

We look forward to expanding our list of leaders and hope to see your name on the list next year!
