CHILDCARE OPTIONS FOR ESSENTIAL WORKERS

CHILDCARE OPTIONS FOR ESSENTIAL WORKERS

For essential workers that live in New York City looking for childcare options while schools are closed.

The NYC Department of Education has opened Regional Enrichment Centers (RECs) throughout the city and across the boroughs from Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 6:00pm.   These RECs have been put in place to provide safe educational environments for children of parents who are working on the front lines during this COVID-19 crisis. RECs are now available to other essential healthcare workers who are scheduled to work during times the Centers are open that need a safe place for their children to learn and stay during school closures.  As essential workers, members of Local 342 are eligible to take their children to these local education centers.
