Guidelines
The maximum hardship amount any member can receive is $500.00.
The UFCW Local 342 Hardship Fund application must be completed and sent to our Mineola office as follows:

Members applying for the assistance should send in any bills, receipts or other documentation the Member believes will support their application as being for the purpose of paying essential expenses that are due and owing after their lay off.
Essential expenses can include bills for phone, utility, rent or mortgage. It can include receipts for food, or an invoice from a child’s high school or grade school that is owed. Members’ applications will be reviewed by a committee of working rank and file Executive Board members and a UFCW Local 342 staff person. This application review is to ensure the applicant is eligible for assistance.
Once the committee has reviewed and approved an application, a check will be mailed to the Member who applied for the assistance.
UFCW Local 342 will keep proper records of all assistance given to members, and the Local 342 Executive Board will receive reports on the distribution of the Hardship grants to members. Reports will be given at Local 342 membership meetings as well.
